At LokalAyiti, we are passionate about celebrating Haitian cultural identity through the use of vèvè symbols on fabrics. Our latest collection, Revelation, brings a modern take on traditional elements to create a unique blend of styles that reflects the cultural identity of Haiti. By choosing the bold patterns and vibrant colors of this collection, you can embrace your cultural identity while displaying your personal style.

Biography

I am Myrlene Simeon, an accountant, marketing graduate, and a travel agent. I am a passionate and dedicated entrepreneur. My two kids are my leitmotif — getting me through all the odds with their extraordinary personas. After gaining experience and skill in the realm of tourism and travel, I took a bold and courageous step to set up my beauty supply store. My journey with the beauty supply store ended after eighteen years at the hands of chaos, looting, and vandalism in my country, Haiti.

The LOKAL Project

I share a profound relationship with my country Haiti and to cherish and glorify its distinctive crafts — I decided to take a leap and launch LOKAL in 2019. The year played a crucial part in the advent of my LOKAL project following the deeds of vandalism in my previous store. I was quite unaware of what I wanted to do, so I entered the world of E-commerce by building an online site to promote the talents and crafts of Haiti, by selling beautifully crafted handmade products. That's when the concept of launching beaded bags and greeting cards crossed my mind — by the LOKAL tag.
